Artist Statement

A page from "Your Little Dirty Book" is a series of six drawings paying homage to the seductive and teasing world of the burlesque. The drawings cover a span of 22 years of a fictional American publication entitled "Your Little Dirty Book", running from the 1950's through the late 1970's. The drawings are fashioned to be salvaged pages from six different issues of the publication. These "pages" are all Xerox transfer drawings printed on pulp paper with gouache.

My hope is that these drawings can evoke a sense of the hidden and taboo world which was pornography and burlesque in America during these years.
